Alertsite Web Site Monitoring Announces Successful Year

Boca Raton, FL - (December 21, 2001) - AlertSite, an innovative service that monitors web sites around-the-clock, is ending 2001 with a bang. The company allows customers (subscribers) to improve their quality of web-based service to foster competitiveness and customer satisfaction. It has grown immensely since it began monitoring in 1999 with just a handful of customers. Today AlertSite performs a staggering 10 million site checks/tests each month for some of the world's largest manufacturers, government agencies and ASPs. Customers include Honda UK, Gibson Guitar, Blue Martini, Cracker Barrel and Purina Mills. Other sites, such as charitable organizations, are monitored free-of-charge.

AlertSite has received external praises from trade publications this year. Most recently, PC Magazine noted that AlertSite was a "…best buy" (December 11, 2001). Earlier this year AlertSite was named a finalist in eWEEK's eXcellence Awards. More than 1,000 entries from 640 companies were submitted for this first annual award.

Initially AlertSite only monitored from its Boca Raton headquarters. Today the company has five monitoring stations around the globe including California, Maryland, England and Singapore to provide a global Internet look for its clients' users. The company has been fully funded by its founders and has been profitable and continued to generate positive cash flow for eight consecutive quarters.

"We are proud of our accomplishments to date, especially since noting some of our competitors have ceased operations," said Ken Gross, president of AlertSite. "We developed our business with a philosophy of minimizing costs whenever and wherever possible. As a result AlertSite has continued to enjoy profitable margins, positive cash flow and annual revenue growth. Not many technology companies today can make this same claim of profitability since inception."

AlertSite is in the process of raising $4.5 million in funding, part of the company's strategy to expand operations internationally, broaden its market and to establish itself as the leading monitoring service. The initial stage of funding will be used to develop new products, increase sales and marketing efforts and to complete the deployment of the AlertSite Network to an international audience. The company plans to add 10 monitoring stations by mid-2002.
